PRE PROCEDURE INSTRUCTIONS

Schedule your injection at a time when minor swelling or bruising will not disrupt your social obligations. This treatment is not recommended if you have an important event within 2 weeks of injection .

Avoid taking aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen, Advil®, Motrin®, Nuprin®, Aleve®, Celebrex®, Fish oil, Ginko Biloba, St. John’s Wort, and high doses of vitamin E for 7-10 days before the procedure, as these may cause increase risk of bleeding and bruising at the treated site(s). Regular multi-vitamin and Tylenol® are permitted (If not contraindicated).

Avoid alcoholic beverages for 24 hours before the procedure as this can increase the risk for bleeding and bruising at the treated site(s).

Always inform your doctor of all medications and your medical history, including supplements you may be taking.

If you are currently taking anti-coagulation medications, discuss the use of these medications with your healthcare provider before your treatment.

If you have any history of Herpes Simplex (cold sores) on your face, inform the doctor one week before your appointment; this will allow adequate time to prescribe a medication to prevent an outbreak. Cancel your appointment if you have active infection.

Any injection introduces the risk of infection. For this reason, in the past 30 days, if any apply: any active infection, surgical procedures, tattoos, or immunosuppressive will delay your appointment.

Eat a small meal or a snack before your appointment.

POST PROCEDURE INSTRUCTIONS

Swelling, bruising, tenderness, numbness, and areas of firm nodules may occur.

Ice packs may be used on the treated area during the first 12 hours. Ice for 15 minutes every hour.

For pain/discomfort, use cool packs and over-the-counter analgesics (Acetaminophen, Tylenol).

If you experience bruising, Arnica Montana natural supplement can be taken to help bruising resolve at a faster rate; take 5 tablets three times per day (this can be started one week before injections).

If experiencing swelling, sleep with head elevated for 2-3 days to decrease swelling.

Avoid sleeping on your side or stomach for 24 hours post-treatment to prevent dispersing the product. We recommend you sleep elevated on your back and use pillows to stabilize yourself.

Avoid vigorous scrubs, exfoliation, or facial treatment in the area of treatment for 72 hours. The area can then be gently washed with a cleanser and water.

Avoid manipulation of the area following the injection unless specifically instructed otherwise by your healthcare practitioner.

Cosmetic fillers are long-lasting but not permanent. Longevity depends on the areas treated and your body’s metabolism.
